Pharmaceutical Industry – Healthcare Professionals: A Highly Regulated Relationship

When collaborating with medical experts, we comply with existing laws and regulations that clearly outline the interaction between industry and healthcare professionals, e.g. healthcare laws and industry codes. Additionally, these rules are amended by different transparency regulations, such as the Sunshine Act in the US, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) Disclosure Code (http://transparency.efpia.eu/) in Europe, and more locally the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Disclosure Code (https://www.abpi.org.uk/reputation/disclosure-uk/). We fully respect the independence and integrity of these professionals.

What the EFPIA Disclosure Code is about – Implementing the EFPIA Disclosure Code

As a member of EFPIA and in line with our company values we fully endorse the EFPIA Disclosure Code (http://transparency.efpia.eu/). In the UK, the implementation of this Code is carried out in accordance with the ABPI Code. In the UK, Bayer will disclose payments as well as benefits in kind to healthcare professionals and healthcare organisations on an online platform managed by the ABPI.
