For the second year running, our expert women’s intimate health brand Canesten is proudly supporting UK’s leading gynaecological cancer charity The Eve Appeal on its annual ‘Get Lippy’ Project, which helps fund vital research and raise awareness to help people with their gynaecological concerns.
Every May, the charity teams up with some of the UK’s leading health and beauty brands to ‘Get Lippy’ about gynaecological cancer and break related social taboos. Shoppers across the UK can get involved and support the project by buying a participating product, online or in store, to support its work in trying to stop gynaecological cancers before they start.
Throughout May 2024, for every Canescool and Canesbalance product sold in Tesco stores nationwide, 10% of the retail price will be donated to the charity by Bayer Consumer Health. Canescool® Soothing Cream Gel instantly cools and cares for your sensitive intimate area skin prone to irritation. Canesbalance® Bacterial Vaginosis Vaginal Gel and Pessaries formulation contains lactic acid, which restores the normal pH of the vagina and therefore effectively neutralises the unpleasant odour. It also contains glycogen, which provides nutrients to the lactic acid bacteria and supports their growth.
Closely tying in with The Eve Appeal’s goals, Canesten is on a mission to break the stigma surrounding intimate health by empowering people with greater knowledge on what our bodies look like and how they behave. This is so that everyone knows their anatomy, what’s normal for them and will be able to spot when something might be wrong. No one should grow up feeling too ashamed to seek medical help when they need it. Our ‘The Truth, Undressed’ education initiative tackles this head-on, providing robust teaching resources for 11-18 year olds and an accessible microsite – www.thetruthundressed.co.uk – showing the reality of our bodies in a desexualised way to help young people feel more confident in their bodies and about managing their health.
More on ‘Get Lippy’ 2024 and The Eve Appeal
This year ‘Get Lippy’ is asking supporters, celebrities, politicians, healthcare professionals, beauty bloggers and members of the public to sign up for the ‘Get Lippy run’ , and to ‘Get Lippy over brunch’ to continue to break taboos and fundraise for the charity. Ambassadors on board include skincare expert Caroline Hirons and TV presenter Cherry Healey.
The Eve Appeal is the only UK charity raising awareness and funding research into the prevention and earlier diagnosis of all five gynaecological cancers- ovarian, womb, cervical, vaginal and vulval. It was set up to save lives by funding ground-breaking research focused on developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and screening for these little-know and under-funded cancers. The world-leading research that it funds is under a clear vision; a future where gynaecological cancers are diseases of the past.
