Prior to his appointment, Pieter was Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) HR Expert, a role that he will continue to fulfil as he combines his responsibility for UK & Ireland HR with EMEA HR.
 

Pieter joined Bayer in 2012. Before that he worked in global HR roles at Novartis and Roche in Basel, Switzerland, as well as with global consulting companies, KPMG, PWC, & Deloitte in the UK, Switzerland and Germany.
 

In his EMEA role Pieter works with the HR teams & senior leaders across the region to coordinate HR activities and foster a strong HR community. He also represents HR and the markets in global programmes, bringing to the UK and Ireland extensive HR experience and best practice.
 

Originally from the UK, Pieter graduated in German & European Studies from the University of London, Queen Mary’s. He later gained an MBA in General Management at the International School of Management in Dortmund.
 

Thanks to Bayer’s new approach to hybrid working, Pieter will spend his time at our global headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany and our UK & Ireland regional headquarters in Reading, UK.
